Copenhagen Guides

Do you want to discover the real Copenhagen, its historic past, its fascinating present and its tantalizing future? Do you want to follow in the footsteps of royalty, Hans Christian Andersen, Søren Kierkegaard and the many others that have made Denmark’s name abroad? And meet the Danes of today, with their bicycles, their welfare state and their relaxed lifestyles.
The countryside around Copenhagen is beautiful and interesting and simply steeped in history, with castles, palaces and royal hunting grounds and world class museums of art, set in a background of rolling hills and quiet beaches.

More history, more Scandinavian way of life in Sweden, just across the Sound, to be discovered in our Around the Sound tour. To find out more, please click the appropriate links on this page.

We offer city walks in and around Copenhagen, all year round, all day from sunrise to sunset and at night too, in order to savour in full the charm of Scandinavian summer nights.

Our walking tours normally last 1.5 to 2 hours but we can, of course, adapt the duration of the walk to your special interests.

Outside Copenhagen

The Cathedral of Roskilde – The Sorø Academy – Hans Christian Andersen’s birthplace in Odense – Castles and Manor Houses in Zealand – Gavnø Castle Park – Århus Gamle By (open air museum)

Around the Sound

In Sweden, in the old Danish county of Scania, there is much to see – across the bridge spanning the Sound, back on the ferry some hours later and our suggestions for the day could be:

We have many other possibilities and ideas for trips to Sweden. Please contact us for further details.
